Cerney Players - "Darkness Falls" - Spring 2016 Production
The Players' Spring 2016 production is a double bill of supernatural tales with three performances, Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st May 2016 in the Village Hall, School Lane, South Cerney. Curtain up for all performances is at 7:30pm. We will have the usual bar before the performance and during the interval. See the attached poster for details. The perils of ambition lie at the heart of this double-bill of supernatural tales. In "The Monkey's Paw", adapted from the classic story by W.W. Jacobs, a working-class family is granted three wishes; all of which come true, but in a macabre and unexpected way! In "The Dark", a successful novelist who has committed himself wholeheartedly to furthering his career meets his Mephistopheles. Together or singly, these plays can chill the blood and leave audiences feeling distinctly uneasy.... Tickets can be bought in person at South Cerney News (aka the Post Office) on Clark's Hay, South Cerney. Tickets can also be bought on-line by clicking here. There is a small booking fee. Are you up for it? | ![]() |
Apologies!
Big apologies to anyone who received an email posting a few days ago ... it was several bits of out of date material and I have no idea how it came about? Well, a vague idea -there are some "management changes" underway so it may have been something that was flushed out out of the system in the process of tidying up! A Time For Rumours....
South Cerney Players
have been rehearsing their latest production, "Rumours", a farce by Neil Simon. Ken and Chris have found
their host Charley, a prominent Government official, in his bedroom, too dazed
to speak, with a bullet wound in his ear lobe! Len and Claire arrive,
themselves injured in a car crash, and are soon joined by Ernest and Cookie, Glenn
and Cassie, each with their own problems. A second, accidental gunshot leaves
Ken temporarily deaf, the police arrive and Len has to pretend he is Charley,
concocting a touching and fantastic explanation. This extremely funny farce will be performed at the South Cerney Village Hall over four nights from Wednesday 24th June until Saturday 27th June. Tickets (£6 Weds-Fri, £7 Sat, concessions £5 Weds only) are available from South Cerney Post Office in the village. |
